General Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Explore Himalayan Adventure. We provide professionally operated river rafting and outdoor adventure experiences in and around Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. These Terms & Conditions apply to all guests who access our website, make a booking, communicate with our team, or participate in our river rafting services.

By booking or participating in a rafting activity with Explore Himalayan Adventure, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to follow these Terms & Conditions.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By visiting our website, making a booking, or participating in our rafting activities, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions. These terms apply to all customers, guests, participants, and other individuals using our rafting services.

2. Reporting Before Your Rafting Slot

Guests must arrive at the designated reporting point 15–30 minutes before their scheduled rafting slot. Guests are responsible for arriving on time so that the necessary registration, preparation, and safety briefing can be completed before departure.

3. Government / GNR Charges

An additional ₹20 GNR fee, where applicable, may be charged to the customer. This fee is payable at the designated rafting-point counter before the rafting activity.

4. Fitness for Rafting

River rafting requires a reasonable level of physical fitness. Our rafting guide or operational team may refuse participation if a guest is considered unfit or unable to safely participate in the activity. The safety decision of the guide or responsible rafting staff must be followed.

5. Alcohol and Drugs

Guests must not participate in rafting while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other intoxicating substance. If a guest is found to be under the influence before the rafting activity, they may be refused participation and no refund will be provided.

6. Behaviour and Conduct

Guests must behave respectfully toward rafting guides, staff, and other participants. Any guest who misbehaves, uses abusive behaviour, or creates a safety concern may be refused participation or removed from the activity. In such circumstances, no refund will be provided.

7. Following the Guide’s Instructions

Guests must carefully listen to and follow all instructions given by the rafting guide during the activity. This includes instructions related to paddling, seating, swimming, entering or exiting the raft, and emergency procedures.

8. Use of Safety Equipment

Guests must properly wear and use all safety equipment provided or instructed by the rafting guide, including the life jacket and helmet. Guests must not remove or misuse safety equipment during the rafting activity.

9. Valid Identification

Guests must carry valid identification and present it when requested by our team, rafting authorities, or other relevant officials.

10. Accuracy of Information

Guests are responsible for providing accurate information when making a booking. Explore Himalayan Adventure will not be responsible for problems, delays, or other issues resulting from incorrect, incomplete, or misleading information provided by the customer.

11. Nature of River Rafting and Risk Acknowledgment

River rafting is an adventure activity involving inherent risks. These may include strong river currents, waves, changing weather conditions, uneven terrain, physical exertion, slips, falls, and other natural or activity-related risks.

By participating in rafting, you acknowledge that:

  • You understand that river rafting involves inherent risks.

  • You voluntarily choose to participate in the activity.

  • You agree to follow the instructions of the rafting guide and safety staff.

  • You understand that river and weather conditions can change.

  • You accept responsibility for complying with the safety instructions provided during the activity.

Participation in river rafting is undertaken with an understanding of the nature and inherent risks of the activity, subject to applicable law.

12. Pricing and Payment

The rafting price shown on our website or communicated by our team is the applicable price at the time of booking. Prices may change depending on the rafting route, season, government charges, or other applicable costs.

  • A full or partial payment may be required to confirm your rafting booking.

  • Any applicable government, local, or rafting-point charges will be communicated to the customer where required.

  • Customers are responsible for providing correct payment and booking information.

  • If payment is made through a third-party payment service, processing or technical issues with that service may affect the transaction.

13. Cancellation and Refund Policy

We understand that travel plans can change. Our cancellation policy is based on the time remaining before the scheduled rafting date.

Refund eligibility

  • Cancellation 10 or more days before the rafting date: 100% refund

  • Cancellation 7–9 days before the rafting date: 50% refund

  • Cancellation 3 days or less before the rafting date: No refund

  • No-show or failure to arrive for the scheduled rafting activity: No refund

Cancellation requests must be made through our official communication channels. The cancellation date will be considered according to the time the request is received by our team.

Rescheduling

Rescheduling requests may be considered depending on availability, season, weather, river conditions, and operational feasibility. Rescheduling is not guaranteed and may be subject to applicable charges or booking conditions.

14. Weather and River Conditions

River rafting depends on suitable weather, river flow, and safety conditions. These conditions can change unexpectedly, and the final decision to operate, modify, postpone, or cancel a rafting activity may be made by our operational team or the relevant authorities based on safety requirements.

If rafting cannot be operated safely due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, such as:

  • Heavy rainfall or severe weather

  • Unsafe river conditions or water levels

  • Natural disasters

  • Government or local authority restrictions

  • Official safety advisories

  • Other circumstances affecting safe operation

we may postpone, reschedule, modify, or cancel the activity.

Where possible, we will discuss an alternative date or arrangement with the customer, subject to availability and operational feasibility.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of India. Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms & Conditions or our rafting services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in Uttarakhand, India.
